1. Who we are
Jeeblee is operated by [JEEBLEE PTY LTD] (“Jeeblee”, “we”, “us”, “our”). We run an online marketplace that lets people order products from Sydney retail stores and have them delivered by independent couriers.
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information. It applies to everyone who uses our website, app and services, including:
- Shoppers who browse, join a waitlist, claim a voucher or place orders
- Stores that sign up to sell through Jeeblee
- Couriers who register interest in or provide delivery services
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. By using Jeeblee, you acknowledge that we will handle your information as described in this policy.
You must be 18 or older to create a Jeeblee account or place an order.
2. What we collect
We only collect information we need to run Jeeblee.
| Who | What we collect |
|---|---|
| Shoppers | Name, email, mobile number, suburb, delivery addresses and instructions, delivery preferences (such as safe drop or leave with a neighbour), order history, voucher and referral details, messages with our support team, and photos of your order and its delivery |
| Stores | Business and trading names, ABN, GST status, store address and opening hours, contact names, phone numbers and emails, bank details for payouts, and product, price and stock information |
| Couriers | Name, contact details, date of birth, proof of identity, right-to-work status, visa type and expiry (if you're a visa holder), emergency contact, ABN, driver licence, vehicle and registration details, police check results, bank details for payments, and your location while you are online or completing a delivery |
| Everyone | Device and browser type, IP address, pages visited and how you use our website and app |
Payment details
Card payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number.
Sensitive information
We only collect sensitive information, such as police check results for couriers, with your consent and where it is needed to provide our services safely.
How we collect it
- From you, when you fill in a form, create an account, place an order, sign up as a store or courier, or contact us
- Automatically, through cookies and similar tools when you use our website or app
- From others, such as stores (order details), couriers (delivery confirmations and photos), our payment provider, and background check providers (for couriers, with consent)
If you don’t give us information we ask for, we may not be able to provide our services to you.
3. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- process, prepare and deliver orders, and send order updates
- take payments, apply vouchers and pay stores and couriers
- verify couriers and stores before they use Jeeblee
- provide customer support and resolve missing-item, damage and delivery claims
- prevent fraud, misuse and duplicate accounts (including voucher misuse)
- keep our platform safe and secure
- understand how people use Jeeblee so we can improve it
- meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations
- send marketing emails, only if you have agreed to receive them
Order and delivery photos
To protect shoppers, stores and couriers, stores photograph each order before pickup and couriers may photograph it at pickup and delivery. These photos may show your name, address or your front door. We use them only to confirm what was packed and delivered, and to resolve claims.
Location
We use your delivery address to route your order and show estimated arrival times. We collect courier location only while a courier is online or completing a delivery, so we can assign orders and show shoppers live progress.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you tick the box to receive them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Even if you unsubscribe, we will still send messages about your account and orders, such as receipts and delivery updates.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with stores or anyone else for their own marketing.
4. Who we share it with
We only share what each party needs:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The store you order from | Your first name, order details and delivery notes | To prepare your order |
| Your courier | Your first name, delivery address, delivery instructions and a way to contact you about the delivery | To deliver your order |
| Service providers | Only what they need to do their job | Payments, hosting, email, SMS, analytics, customer support and background checks |
| Professional advisers | As needed | Legal, accounting and insurance advice |
| Government and law enforcement | As required | When the law requires it, or to prevent serious harm or fraud |
| A buyer of our business | Customer records | If Jeeblee is sold or merged, under the same protections |
Our service providers must protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us.
Overseas storage
Some of our service providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with Australian privacy law.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar tools to keep our website working, remember your preferences and understand how people use Jeeblee. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly. We do not use advertising or retargeting pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
5. Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. These include encrypted connections, access limited to staff and providers who need it, and secure, reputable service providers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by law.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Order and payment records | 7 years, for tax and legal reasons |
| Order and delivery photos | 90 days, or longer if needed to resolve a claim |
| Courier location data | 90 days |
| Waitlist and marketing details | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them |
| Courier and store verification records | While you use Jeeblee, then up to 7 years |
When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing privacy@jeeblee.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, unless the law says we can’t.
